The Division of Information and Instructional Technology (DIIT) seeks approval to renew Google
Workspace for Education Plus through VivacityTech. This renewal supports the District’s
continued use of a secure, cloud-based platform that provides productivity, collaboration,
communication, and administrative tools for students and staff across DeKalb County School
District (DCSD).

As technology continues to play a critical role in teaching, learning, and district operations,
maintaining a secure and reliable digital environment is essential. Students and staff rely daily
on Google Workspace applications to communicate, collaborate, create content, access
instructional resources, and manage operational workflows. The Google Workspace for
Education Plus platform enhances these capabilities while providing advanced security,
compliance, reporting, and administrative controls designed specifically for K-12 educational
environments.

Google Workspace for Education Plus serves as a foundational component of the District’s
digital ecosystem and supports instructional delivery, administrative operations, communication,
and cybersecurity efforts. The platform enables students and staff to work efficiently from any
location while maintaining secure access to District resources and data.

The Education Plus edition provides enhanced functionality beyond the standard educational
offering, including advanced security tools, analytics, administrative controls, and collaboration
features that help protect District data and improve operational efficiency. These capabilities
support the District’s commitment to safeguarding student and staff information while ensuring
equitable access to modern digital learning tools.

This renewal represents Year 2 of a 3-year licensing commitment and provides 95,000 student
licenses with staff licenses included as part of the agreement. The pricing structure allows the
District to maintain predictable costs while continuing to leverage enterprise-level collaboration
and security capabilities.

Procurement:

Pursuant to Board Policy DJE III.D.3.d, purchases may be made through contracts formally
solicited and obtained by governmental entities and cooperative purchasing organizations to
achieve cost savings and administrative efficiencies. Accordingly, NCPA/OMNIA Partners
Contract #01-170 will be utilized for purchase.
