Recognition DeKalb Arts Academy Dance

             DeKalb Arts Academy – Competitive Dance – County Champions

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and athletically.
             The DeKalb Arts Academy competitive dance team is committed to working hard and representing
             DeKalb athletics; and

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb Arts Academy competitive dance team won the 2026 DeKalb County Elementary
             Competitive Dance Championship; and

WHEREAS:     Under the direction of Coaches Meltera Wimpye and Brittney Tucker, the DAA squad defeated 17
             other teams to take the title; and

WHEREAS:     DAA finished second in the Area 2 Championships and upped its stage performance to capture the
             title; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic accomplishments
             of the DeKalb Arts Academy competitive dance team for having achieved one of the highest levels
             attainable by an elementary competitive dance team. In official recognition, we affix our signatures on
             this 11th day of May 2026.
