                  Columbia Middle School – County Wrestling Champions

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and athletically.
             The Columbia Middle School boys’ wrestling team is committed to working hard and representing
             DeKalb athletics; and

WHEREAS:     The Columbia Middle School boys’ wrestling team won the 2026 DeKalb County Middle School
             Wrestling Championships; and

WHEREAS:     Under the direction of Coach Michael Lewis, Columbia placed 14 wrestlers in the Top 4 including two
             gold medal winners, five silver medalists, two bronze medals and five fourth place finishes, and

WHEREAS:     The Columbia Middle School boys’ wrestling team defeated Chapel Hill 219-178 while competing
             against 14 other squads for the trophy, and, as such

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic accomplishments
             of the Columbia Middle School boys’ wrestling team for having achieved one of the highest levels
             attainable by a middle school wrestling team. In official recognition, we affix our signatures on this
             11th day of May 2026.
