       Demond Hutchins – Miller Grove High School – GHSA State Wrestling Champion

WHEREAS:      The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and athletically.
              Miller Grove senior wrestler Demond Hutchins is committed to working hard and representing DeKalb
              athletics; and

WHEREAS:      Demond Hutchins defeated Morgan County’s Kaleo Wilcoxson via a 13-3 Major Decision to win gold in
              the 190-pound division at the 2026 GHSA Class 2A Traditional Wrestling Championships; and

WHEREAS:      Under the direction of Head Coach Quincey Bryant, Demond Hutchins finished the season undefeated
              at 45-0 and became the first Miller Grove Wolverine to win gold at state; and

WHEREAS:      Demond Hutchins also won the DeKalb County, Region 6-2A, Class 2A state sectional 190-division and
              the Guerilla Warfare Tournament titles in his run to the championship; and as such,

THEREFORE:    We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic accomplishments
              of the Miller Grove senior wrestler Demond Hutchins for having achieved one of the highest levels
              attainable by a high school wrestler. In official recognition, we affix our signatures on this 11th day of
              May 2026.
