             Badesire Lubala – Stephenson High School – State Wrestling Champion

WHEREAS:        The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and athletically.
                Stephenson High School junior wrestler Badesire Lubala is committed to working hard and
                representing DeKalb athletics; and

WHEREAS:        Lubala defeated Calvary Day School’s Brexton Bell via a pin fall to win gold in the 175-pound division
                at the 2026 GHSA Class 3A Traditional Wrestling Championships; and

WHEREAS:        Under the direction of Head Coach Derek Vaugn, Lubala finished 48-3 this season and became the
                first Stephenson Jaguar to win gold at state; and

WHEREAS:        Lubala also won the DeKalb County Wrestling and Class 3A state sectional 175-division titles in his run
                to the championship; and as such,

THEREFORE:      We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic accomplishments
                of the Stephenson High School junior wrestler Badesire Lubala for having achieved one of the highest
                levels attainable by a high school wrestler. In official recognition, we affix our signatures on this 11th
                day of May 2026.
