Request: It is requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education approve the 3-month extension of Bid 22-15 School Nutrition Frozen / Temperature Control & Dry Food Products to Gordon Food Service, Inc., with no Additional Amount to this request for extension. The extension is to cover from July 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026.
Why: To ensure DeKalb County School District (DCSD) School Nutrition Services (SNS) provides healthy reimbursable meals to students that meet the Child Nutrition, USDA standards for meal pattern requirements during the current solicitation process.
Details: The renewal of Bid 22-15 Award (fourth and final renewal) was approved during the Board meeting on June 9, 2025. To ensure continued services through the current solicitation process, we are requesting an extension from July 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026.
The current solicitation process anticipates recommendation to the Board on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Frozen / Temperature Control & Dry Food Products provided by Gordon Food Service, Inc., are delivered by the vendor to schools.

Scope: Extension of Bid Award – 3-month extension - Bid 22-15 School Nutrition
Frozen Temperature Control and Dry Food Products to Gordon Food Service,
Inc., in No Additional Amount for this request for extension.
Bid Award Term: This is a bid award with an initial one (1) year term of July 1,
2021, through June 30, 2022, with four (4), one (1) year renewal options through
June 30, 2026, subject to Board approval on year-to-year basis.
The extension is to cover from July 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026.
Solicitation Process: Bid 22-15 was competitively solicited through DCSD
Purchasing Department from March 11, 2021, through April 13, 2021. It was
posted to DCSD website, advertised in the Champion Newspaper, and electronic
notification was sent to vendor on DCSD vendor list and the State of GA
Procurement Registry. One vendor responded to the solicitation.
Award Process: One bid was reviewed and deemed responsive to requirements
of the solicitation by the Purchasing Department. The Board approved the award
of Bid 22-15 on June 14, 2021.
