Chronology- Physical Security Systems New Sequoyah HS/MS & New Cross Keys
High School (Convergint)

The Division of Information and Instructional Technology (DIIT), in coordination with district
leadership, school safety stakeholders, and construction partners, identified the need for
comprehensive physical security systems to support the opening of New Sequoyah High
School, New Sequoyah Middle School and New Cross Keys High School. Planning activities
focused on establishing district-standard access control, intrusion detection, and video
surveillance systems aligned with safety codes, operational requirements, and new school
construction timelines.

Following planning and design coordination, DIIT initiated procurement through an approved
competitive process to secure a qualified vendor to design, furnish, install, program, and
commission the required security systems. Convergint Technologies was selected to deliver the
physical security scope as part of the overall construction project.

Key Services Include:

Base Security Systems Installation (New Sequoyah HS/MS)= $962,556

This portion of the work establishes the core physical security infrastructure for the facility.
Services and systems provided include:

   ●​ Design, furnishing, installation, and commissioning of the enterprise access control
      system
   ●​ LenelS2 OnGuard access control platform with controllers and system expansion
      hardware
   ●​ Card reader door packages, monitored doors, electric strikes, and associated door
      hardware
   ●​ Bosch intrusion detection system, including control panels, power supplies, monitored
      doors, motion detection devices, and alarm interfaces
   ●​ Video surveillance system including a centralized network video recorder, fixed cameras,
      multi-sensor cameras, fisheye cameras, and video door intercom stations
   ●​ Camera licensing, system programming, integration, and 100% system testing
   ●​ Initial monitoring and system commissioning services
   ●​ Project management and coordination with construction teams and district stakeholders
   ●​ Procurement of equipment and materials
   ●​ Installation, programming, commissioning, and system integration
   ●​ Staff training, documentation, and delivery of as-built records
   ●​ Warranty coverage and post-installation support

Security System Expansion (New Sequoyah HS/MS)= $496,445

This portion of work expands the systems initially installed to address additional security
requirements identified during construction completion. Services and systems provided include:

   ●​ Expansion of the access control system with additional panels and card reader door
      packages
   ●​ Additional monitored doors and intrusion detection devices
   ●​ Expanded video surveillance coverage, including additional dome, bullet, fisheye, and
      multi-sensor cameras
   ●​ Integration of all new devices into the existing Phase II security platforms
   ●​ Programming, commissioning, and final acceptance testing of expanded systems
   ●​ Project management and coordination with construction teams and district stakeholders
   ●​ Procurement of equipment and materials
   ●​ Installation, programming, commissioning, and system integration
   ●​ Staff training, documentation, and delivery of as-built records
   ●​ Warranty coverage and post-installation support

Mobile Classroom Security Cameras (New Cross Keys HS)=$40,362

Convergint will also install a supplemental video surveillance system for newly installed mobile
classroom units at Cross Keys High School.This work includes:

   ●​ Installation of the district’s CompleteView video management system with Hanwha
      Vision cameras
   ●​ Installation of multi-sensor cameras, fisheye cameras, dome cameras, and bullet
      cameras to provide surveillance coverage for mobile classroom areas
   ●​ Camera licensing, device hardening, system programming, and commissioning
   ●​ Full system testing upon completion of installation

The system will integrate with the district’s existing video surveillance platform to maintain
centralized monitoring and management capabilities.

Contingency =$224,904.95

The planning, procurement, and phased implementation of access control, intrusion detection,
and video surveillance systems by Convergint Technologies support the opening of the New
Sequoyah High School, New Sequoyah Middle School, and New Cross Keys High School,
ensuring the facility is equipped with fully integrated, district-standard security systems aligned
with construction timelines and safety requirements.

The planning, procurement, and phased implementation of physical security systems by
Convergint Technologies ensures that New Sequoyah High School, New Sequoyah Middle
School, and New Cross Keys are equipped with fully integrated, district-standard access control,
intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems. These systems support the district’s
commitment to maintaining safe and secure learning environments while aligning with
construction schedules, operational requirements, and established safety standards for new
school facilities.

Procurement

In accordance with Board of Education Purchasing Policy DJE III.C.3., Purchases or contracts
with a total estimated cost of $100,000.00 or more shall be awarded through a written
competitive sealed bid process to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, or through a
competitive request for proposal process where the offer deemed to be the most advantageous
to the District may be selected. The competitive solicitation for RFP 22-475 was conducted in
accordance with DeKalb County School District procurement policies.
