                      RECOGNITION
              AUSTIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BOYS' AND GIRLS' TRACK TEAMS
WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically
             and athletically. The Austin Elementary School boys' and girls' track teams are
             committed to working hard and representing DeKalb athletics; and



WHEREAS:     The Austin Elementary School boys' and girls' track teams won the 2025 Overall
             Elementary DeKalb County Track and Field Championships title; and




WHEREAS:     Under the leadership of coaches James Kingsberry and Angela Mickle, the two track
             squads combined for a score of 78 points to hold off the competing team by 12 points
             to capture the title; and



WHEREAS:     Austin's two teams combined to capture two gold medals, three silver medals, two
             bronze medals, and 13 top 8 finishes to help secure the title and




THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic
             accomplishments of the Austin Elementary boys' and girls' track team for having
             achieved one of the highest levels attainable by an elementary track team. In official
             recognition, we affix our signatures on this 12th day of January, 2026.
