Request: It is requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education approve the purchase of band uniforms for Druid Hills High School, Lakeside High School, and Lithonia High School for an amount not to exceed $371,034.
Why: Band uniforms are typically purchased on a rotating seven-year cycle for every high school. Druid Hills High School, Lakeside High School, and Lithonia High School will receive band uniforms this year. Based on the average enrollment for the last three years in the instrumental music programs at each school, the school district will purchase the following quantity of uniforms at a unit price not to exceed $950 each.
Details: Each school completed a comprehensive uniform adoption process with feedback from students and parents.

Band Shoppe, Fruhauf Uniforms, Inc and Stanbury Uniforms responded to the request to provide quotes. The quote review period was May-September 2025.

Quotes were received for the following number of uniforms based on the average three-year enrollment of students in the instrumental music program at each school: Druid Hills HS - 100, Lakeside HS - 150, and Lithonia HS - 100.

  Approval to Purchase Band Uniforms for High Schools for an amount not to
  exceed $371,034.00

Background/Details

  DeKalb County School District follows a seven-year rotation schedule for
  purchasing band uniforms for each high school. Each year, three schools are
  selected based on the established 2019–2027 cycle. For the 2025–2026
  cycle, the selected schools are Druid Hills High School, Lakeside High School,
  and Lithonia High School.

  Schools are notified and trained in the uniform adoption process in January
  of the purchase year. From January through May 2025, schools gathered
  input from stakeholders and finalized uniform designs. Between May and
  September 2025, vendors responded to requests for quotes. Band directors
  collaborated with the Music Coordinator to select final vendors in August
  2025.



Contract Term

  Fruhauf Uniforms, Inc. and Stanbury Uniforms are board approved vendors.

  Druid Hills High School selected Fruhauf Uniforms, with a quote of $91,537
  for 100 uniforms.

  Lakeside High School selected Fruhauf Uniforms, with a quote of $152,156
  for 150 uniforms.

  Lithonia High School selected Stanbury Uniforms, with a quote of $92,341
  for 100 uniforms.


Scope
  Each company will provide coats, bibbers, capes, shakos, garment bags,
  hangers, totes, and plums for both regular uniforms and drum major uniforms.
