Proclamation
INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Educa on believes that science and STEM learning are part of a
well-rounded educa on, enhances learning opportuni es and be er prepares students for
success in post-secondary educa on and beyond; and
WHEREAS: Science and STEM learning that engages students in solving problems through inquiry
fosters the development of crea ve problem-solving, collabora ve communica on, and
cri cal thinking skills; and empowers them to apply these abili es in real-world contexts;
and
WHEREAS: Students Anushka Sable of Chamblee High School and Akousa Baah of Tucker High School
dis nguished themselves by compe ng at the 2025 Regeneron Interna onal Science and
Engineering Fair (ISEF), where they received pres gious awards for their innova ve research
projects, placing among the top young scien st from around the world. Their
accomplishments highlight the impact of inquiry-based learning, rigorous scien fic research,
and dedica on to excellence; and
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Educa on is commi ed to developing crea ve and dynamic
learners who demonstrate curiosity, originality, inven veness, and innova ve problem-
solving to create new things, dive deeply into an issue and consider mul ple perspec ves
when addressing problems and developing new processes; and generate ques ons and
elaborate on ideas to iden fy new solu ons.
THEREFORE: We, the DeKalb County Board of Educa on, do hereby acknowledge and recognize the
outstanding accomplishments of Anushka Sable and Akousa Baah for their achievements at
the Interna onal Science and Engineering Fair. We commend them for their dedica on,
perseverance, and pursuit of academic excellence. In official recogni on whereof, we
hereby affix our signatures on this 8th day of December, 2025.
