   MIRACLES MAKER AWARD        Honoring Excellence in Mathematics
WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering teacher
             leaders and staff to drive academic excellence and build pathways to student success; and

WHEREAS:     At the Georgia Department of Education’s 2025 MathCON & Computer Science CON Awards held on
             June 25, 2025, six outstanding DeKalb County mathematics educators were honored with prestigious
             statewide awards, recognizing their exceptional contributions to mathematics education:

             Michelle Bateman, Senior Mathematics Coordinator – Georgia Early Numeracy Award
             Tiffany Dillard, Senior Mathematics Coordinator – Leadership Excellence in Mathematics Award
             Dejana Ismaili, Robert Shaw Elementary – K-5 Mathematical Mindset Award
             Linda Jackson, Cedar Grove High School – High-Level of Engagement with Statistical Reasoning Award
             Dr. Edmar Orata, Cross Keys High School – Language Supports Trailblazer Award
             Lashawn White, Wadsworth Magnet School – Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics Award; and

WHEREAS:     These awards highlight the dedication and excellence of DeKalb County’s mathematics educators,
             who continue to inspire and lead in the field of mathematics education; and

WHEREAS:     These accolades reflect the unwavering dedication, innovation, and leadership of DeKalb County’s
             mathematics educators, who continue to elevate instructional practices and inspire students across
             the district; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education proudly recognize and celebrate the achievements of
             these six exemplary educators. Their work exemplifies the district’s mission to foster academic
             excellence, access and opportunity. The Board extends its deepest appreciation for their service,
             leadership, and continued impact on student learning. In official recognition whereof, we hereby affix
             our signature this 6th day of October 2025.
