2025 Chronology – RFP 22-475 Convergint Technologies
The Department of Information and Instructional Technology (DIIT) seeks
approval to renew year five of the five-year contract for RFP 22-475 with
Convergint Technologies. This initiative supports DeKalb County School
District’s (DCSD) ongoing effort to modernize and maintain physical security
infrastructure across all facilities.
As the district prioritizes student and staff safety, Convergint Technologies
remains a strategic partner in delivering reliable access control, intrusion
detection, and video surveillance. This collaboration ensures continuity of
services as DCSD transitions from legacy platforms to advanced, integrated
security solutions.
The multi-year scope of work includes installation, repair, and maintenance
of physical security systems, as well as continuous monitoring and rapid
response to service requests. At the time of award, the Board of Education
reviewed an executive summary of the RFP evaluation process, including the
scoring matrix and justification memo.
Cost Determination
The cost for this year was calculated using historical ticket data from existing
security systems. DIIT reviewed past service requests, maintenance
incidents, and upgrade activities to identify trends in labor, materials, and
response times. By quantifying the frequency and complexity of tickets, DIIT
estimated the average annual costs for repairs, system updates, monitoring,
and ongoing support. The requested amount reflects both operational needs
and historical expenditures.
