                      B-POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                      DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                      August 27, 2025

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its B-Policy Review Committee Meeting
Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Sr., Interim Committee Chair convened the meeting at 12:04 p.m. and noted
the following committee members were in attendance; Ms. Whitney McGinniss, Mrs. Marissa
Key, Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Mr. H. Eric Hilton, Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, and Superintendent Dr.
Devon Q. Horton. Also, present were Mr. Joel Thibodeau, Executive Director of Internal Audits
& Compliance, and Ms. Janet Stone, Manager of Compliance.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Sr., Interim Committee Chair, presented the review follow-up /action items
from the previous board b-policy committee meeting.

The committee reviewed the recommendations and updates for Board Policy LE: School-
Community Organizations Relations, LEC: Booster Organizations, and EEE: Wellness Program.
Mrs. Pierce made a motion to approve the policies to move to Ready for Action at the September
8, 2025 board meeting. With a second by Mr. DaCosta, Sr., and opposition by Ms. McGinniss.
With a vote of 2/1, the motion passed.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS | COMMENTS
Mr. DaCosta, Sr. provided the date of the next B-Policy Review committee meeting that will be
held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 @ 12:00 p.m.

ADJOURN
With no objections, Mr. DaCosta, Sr. adjourned the August 27, 2025, B-Policy Review
Committee meeting at 12:58 pm.
