Chamblee HS Track Athlete Sierra Thornton

               RECOGNITIONHONORING CHAMBLEE HIGH SCHOOL
                          TRACK ATHLETE SIERRA THORNTON

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and
             athletically. Chamblee High School track and field athlete Sierra Thornton is committed to
             working hard and representing DeKalb athletics; and

WHEREAS:     Chamblee High School freshman Sierra Thornton captured the Class 5A discus gold medal
             with a toss of 140-feet, three inches; and

WHEREAS:     She is coached by Chamblee girls’ track and field coaches Hakim Felts and Lakeyda Zackery;
             and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic
             accomplishments of the Chamblee High School track and field athlete Sierra Thornton for
             having achieved one of the highest levels attainable by a high school track and field participant.
