Southwest DeKalb HS Track and Field Athlete India Thorpe

             P R O C L A M AT I O N

               RECOGNITION
                   HONORING SOUTHWEST DEKALB HIGH SCHOOL
                     TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETE INDIA THORPE

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and
             athletically. The Southwest DeKalb track and field competitor India Thorpe is committed to
             working hard and representing DeKalb athletics; and

WHEREAS:     Southwest DeKalb High School senior India Thorpe won Class 4A girls’ gold medals in the
             triple jump with a leap of 41-feet, 1 inch and the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.50; and

WHEREAS:     She was coached by Southwest DeKalb girls’ track coach Montavious Coleman; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic
             accomplishments of the Southwest DeKalb track athlete India Thorpe for having achieved
             one of the highest levels attainable by a high school track and field participant. In official
             recognition, we affix our signatures on this -­day of -- 2025.
