Stone Mountain HS Boys' Tennis Team

             P R O C L A M AT I O N
              RECOGNITION
                      HONORING STONE MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL
                               BOYS’ TENNIS TEAM

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and
             athletically. The Stone Mountain High School Pirates boys’ tennis team is committed to working
             hard and representing DeKalb Schools athletics; and

WHEREAS:     The Stone Mountain High School Pirates boys’team won the Region 5-3A tennis championship;
             and

WHEREAS:     Coach Tyhisha Monteiro’s tennis squad finished the regular season with a 11-0-2 overall record
             while on the way to winning the region title; and

WHEREAS:     Stone Mountain’s title qualified them as a No. 2 seed for Class 3A Boys’ State Tennis Playoffs
             where they reached the Sweet 16 playoff round for the first time in school history; and

WHEREAS:     Monteiro’s team finished 13-1-1 on the season with six first-year tennis players;

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic
             accomplishments of the Stone Mountain High School boys’ tennis team for having achieved
             one of the highest levels attainable by a high school tennis team. In official recognition, we affix
             our signatures on this 9th day of June 2025.
