                            AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                     OF THE
                        DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                          May 27, 2025

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Tuesday, May 27,
2025.

Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:32 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Committee Vice Chair, Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Superintendent,
Dr. Devon Q. Horton, Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, and Mr. Elijah Palmer.
Community Advisory members, Ms. Cathy Iconis, Ms. Tambria Peeples, Mr. James Burke,
Board Attorney Ms. Melanie Slaton, and Board Member, Ms. Whitney McGinniss all attended
the meeting virtually.

Ms. Gevertz also noted the following staff members were present, Mr. Erick Hofstetter,
Mr. Antwyn Brown, Mr. Raymond Stanley, Dr. Charda Carter, Mr. H. Eric Hilton, Mrs. Myss
Johnson-Jelks, Mr. Brandan Lane, Dr. Triscilla Weaver, Ms. Lauren Scott, Ms. Tisa Smoots, and
Ms. Danielle Valentine.

Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations was present as well.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Executive Director of Internal Audits, presented the athletic audit update.

Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Executive Director of Internal Audits, presented the fleet audit findings.

COMMENTS
Ms. Gevertz mentioned the topics that would be discussed at the September meeting would be
Title IX, p-card and operations audits.

ADJOURN
Ms. Gevertz adjourned the May 27, 2025, Audit Committee meeting at 2.43 p.m.
