RECOGNITION
Honoring Cedar Grove Elementary School and Tucker High School
2025 APBS Conference PBIS Film Festival Winners
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County School District is committed to fostering positive learning environments
through the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in 60
schools across the district; and
WHEREAS: Cedar Grove Elementary School and Tucker High School have demonstrated exceptional
creativity, dedication, and commitment to the values of PBIS through their participation in the
2025 Association for Positive Behavior Support (APBS) Conference PBIS Film Festival in St.
Louis, Missouri; and
WHEREAS: The APBS Conference is a prestigious international event that brings together educators,
researchers, and practitioners from around the world to explore best practices, research, and
innovations in PBIS; and
WHEREAS: Entries in the PBIS Film Festival were judged by APBS Conference attendees based on
creativity, passion, and hard work, and were required to reflect powerful messages of positive
behavior support and its impact on communities; and
WHEREAS: Cedar Grove Elementary School earned top honors in the School Engagement–Elementary
category, and Tucker High School was recognized in the High School Instruction category; and
WHEREAS: Both schools received a congratulatory message from Cheretta A. Clerkley, Executive Director
of APBS, along with a Digital Award Certificate, a digital gift, and public recognition through
APBS Conference communications, social media, and the Awards Reception held on Friday,
March 15, 2025, at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis; and
WHEREAS: Cedar Grove Elementary School and Tucker High School are also officially recognized PBIS
schools by the Georgia Department of Education and are shining examples of the positive
impact PBIS can have in schools and communities;
THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the DeKalb County School District proudly recognizes and congratulates
Cedar Grove Elementary School and Tucker High School for their outstanding achievement
and representation of DeKalb County Schools on both national and international platforms.
Their work exemplifies the power of positive behavior support and the excellence of our
students, staff, and school communities.
