RECOGNITION
2025 Georgia Student Technology Competition and Cyber Champion Winners
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Education believes technology is an essential component of the
educational system; and
WHEREAS: The student technology competition and cyber champions program promotes technology and
cyber awareness skills through competition and advocacy with the goal of challenging students
to become digital leaders in the 21st Century; and
WHEREAS: The technology competition and cyber champions program develops students’ creative
problem-solving and critical thinking abilities allowing students to showcase their technical
and public speaking skills to effectively articulate their ideas to the judge and the community
stakeholders; and
WHEREAS: The technology competition exemplifies student’s innovation and creativity by encouraging
students to experiment new concepts, showcase their technical skills, and enhance their use of
digital tools to broaden their perspectives. The cyber champions program brought together 60
students throughout the district to empower their peers to learn about cyber security, artificial
intelligence, and digital citizenship. The DeKalb County School District sent 71 first-place
winners to compete at the Georgia Student Technology Competition in McDonough, GA which
is the highest level of student technology competitions in the state of Georgia;
WHEREAS: Partnerships between Career Technical and Agricultural Education programs in the DeKalb
County School District and local businesses, industries, and post-secondary institutions
enhance the quality and relevance of education, ensuring students are prepared for both
college and careers; and
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Education is committed to supporting the continued development
of these programs and others to maintain and improve technology knowledge and digital
citizenship to continue cultivating empowered learning environments and endless career
exploration opportunities;
THEREFORE: We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, do hereby acknowledge and recognize the
60 cyber champions and 14 first, second, and third place winners from the Georgia Student
Technology Competition. The students exhibited excellence and demonstrated H-Pride
throughout the competition. In official recognition whereof, we hereby affix our signatures, this
5th day of May 2025.
