Chamblee HS Boys Swimmer Ian Combs Recognition 2025 v1

               RECOGNITION
                Honoring Chamblee High School Swimmer Ian Combs

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically and
             athletically. Chamblee High School Boys’ swimmer, Ian Combs is committed to working hard
             and representing DeKalb athletics; and

WHEREAS:     Today, we want to celebrate Chamblee swimmer Ian Combs for his outstanding performance at
             the 2025 GHSA Class 5A Swimming Championships; and

WHEREAS:     Coached by Greg Valley and Lorri Reynolds, Combs became a two-time individual state
             champion winning the 200-yard individual medley for the second consecutive season winning
             the gold medal with a time 1:48.45; and

WHEREAS:     Combs decorated state championships performance also includes two silver (100-yard
             backstroke) and one bronze (200-yard freestyle) during his career. He was also named DeKalb
             County Outstanding Swimmer of the Year; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, acknowledge the outstanding athletic
             accomplishments of the Chamblee swimmer Ian Combs for having achieved one of the highest
             levels attainable by a high school swimmer. In official recognition, we affix our signatures on
