                                      OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                       February 10, 2025

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its 4th Public Hearing on HB 581, Monday,
February 10, 2025.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Board Chair convened the virtual hearing at 11:32 a.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Vice Chair, Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Mr. Andrew B. Ziffer, Ms.
Whitney McGinniss, Tiffany Hogan, Ph.D., Mr. Awet Eyasu, Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Sr., and
Superintendent, Dr. Devon Q. Horton.

Also in attendance were Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Administrator to the Board and Ms.
Melanie Slaton, General Counsel.

Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, conducted 4th public hearing on HB 581
presentation to allow the community an opportunity to address the board regarding House Bill
581.

Mr. Schueneman opened the Community Input session.
