               RECOGNITION
      Honoring Henderson Mill Elementary School District Soccer Champions

WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School System is dedicated to developing students academically as well
             as athletically; and

WHEREAS:     The Henderson Mill Elementary School soccer team captured the inaugural DeKalb County
             elementary soccer county championship on Saturday, December 7 at Godfrey Stadium; and

WHEREAS:     Playing in a 12-team, single-elimination tournament Henderson Mill, the Area 1 runner-up,
             advanced through the bracket to the semifinals to defeat Cary Reynolds to advance to the title
             game; and

WHEREAS:     Henderson Mill won a thrilling 3-2 victory over Laurel Ridge Elementary in extra time of a game
             that was tied 2-2; and

WHEREAS:     Coached by Douglas Garcia and Eric Reid Henderson Mill Elementary excelled on the way to
             the championship; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, do hereby acknowledge the great athletic
             accomplishments of the for having achieved one of the highest levels attainable by an
             elementary soccer program. In official recognition, whereof, we hereby affix our signatures, this
