Request: It is requested that the Board of Education accept the donation of office furniture from Rheaply to the DeKalb County School District. Value not to exceed $281,302.62.
Why: This donation allows these items to have a "second life" and supports the district's commitment to reuse, reduce, and recycle. Donated items also mean that we do not have to use operational or SPLOST funds for capital outlay purchases. We appreciate Rheaply's partnership.
Details: Upon receipt of the furniture, it will be categorized and then distributed by the Operations Division across the district to fill where needed.
Financial impact: There is no cost to the district to accept the donation from Rheaply.

Dear Mr. Hofstetter,
I am thrilled to write to you regarding the donation opportunity for DeKalb County School
District on behalf of Rheaply. Our client’s 246 items are located in their Marietta, GA
warehouse and include task chairs, monitor arms, storage, and more. The total value of
the items is $281,302.62. Below, on the second page, is a chart detailing the items,
values, and quantities. The intention of this donation is twofold: to support the
operations of DCSD as well as to prevent valuable materials from heading to the landfill
by securing their next best use.
We aim to support DCSD’s efforts in creating functional learning and administrative
environments for your students, educators, and staff. Additionally, this collaboration is a
reflection of Rheaply’s commitment to making a positive environmental impact by
facilitating resource-sharing initiatives.
Thank you for the opportunity to work together (again!) in support of the DeKalb County
School District and Rheaply missions. We look forward to completing this donation as
