               RECOGNITION
                    Honoring Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet
                   School of Technology Boys and Girls Track Team


WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County School District is dedicated to developing students academically as well as
             athletically; and

WHEREAS:     The Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology boys and girls track teams
             joined forces to win the Inaugural DeKalb County School District Track Championship; and

WHEREAS:     The Obama team won ﬁrst place with a total of 66.5 points which qualiﬁed them for four
             medals (2 gold and 2 silver) along with recognition for several other Top 8 ﬁnishes at the
             meet; and

THEREFORE:   We, the DeKalb County Board of Education, do hereby acknowledge the great athletic
             accomplishments of the Barack H. Obama Elementary Magnet School of Technology girls and
             boys track teams for having achieved one of the highest levels attainable in an elementary
             school track program. In oﬃcial recognition, whereof, we hereby aﬃx our signatures, this 9th
             day of December 2024.
