                           AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                      November 7, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, November
7, 2024.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:02 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Superintendent, Dr. Devon Q. Horton and Mr. Joel Thibodeaux,
Community Advisory members, Ms. Gena Major, Mr. Dennis Allen, Board Attorney Ms.
Melanie Slaton, Mr. Byron Schueneman and Board Members, Ms. Allyson Gevertz and Ms.
Whitney McGinniss joined the meeting virtually.

Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations was present as well.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Internal Audits & Compliance, Chief of Staff Division
presented audit project updates.

Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Internal Audits & Compliance, Chief of Staff Division
presented CTAE school activity audit report.

Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, Division of Finance presented the financial
audit updates.

COMMENTS
Mrs. Pierce thanked everyone for their participation. She informed the public that the audit
committee is seeking advisory committee members for 2025.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Pierce adjourned the November 7, 2024, Audit Committee meeting at 2.24 p.m.
