Recognition Miller Grove High School Softball Team

               RECOGNITIONMiller Grove High School Softball Team
WHEREAS:     Sports and athletics are challenging and stimulating activities and the best performances
             come only through a combination of talent, hard work and support of family and friends and
             community.

WHEREAS:     The Miller Grove High School varsity softball team coached by Shavonda Wright is to be
             commended for their outstanding season.

WHEREAS:     Miller Grove High School’s softball team won the Region 6 AA region championship and
             qualified for the GHSA State Softball Elite 8 Championship Tournament in Columbus, GA. and
             finished the year with a 19-4 record.

WHEREAS:     Miller Grove High School’s pitcher, Amiyah Morrison became the school’s all-time leader in
             strikeouts and wins.

WHEREAS:     The accomplishments of the team brought pride and elation to the DeKalb County School
             District and to the DeKalb County softball community; the team’s perseverance and discipline
             serves as an example to other young people; and their remarkable achievements make us
             proud.

THEREFORE:   The DeKalb County Board of Education takes immense pride in recognizing the Miller
             Grove High School softball team. We encourage the district and the community to join us in
             recognition and celebration of the team’s achievements.
