              P R O C L A M AT I O N
                               Parent & Family Engagement Month
WHEREAS:        November has been officially recognized as Family Engagement Month by the DeKalb County
                School District Board of Education; and

WHEREAS:        Families are their children’s first and most impactful teachers, providing a foundation
                essential for their children to thrive, become lifelong learners, and grow into valued members
                of society; and

WHEREAS:        Families who actively partner with schools and engage in their children’s education from early
                childhood through college support their children’s success, fostering an understanding that
                education is the gateway to brighter futures and bridges the gaps along the way; and

WHEREAS:        The DeKalb County School District is committed to ensuring every student has access to
                an excellent education by building and maintaining strong lines of communication between
                families, schools, and business partners within the community. We work together to support
                student success by promoting meaningful family engagement in the learning process; and

WHEREAS:        Strong partnerships are vital to educational success, and Family Engagement Month
                emphasizes the importance of families working closely with schools and educators to support
                their children’s learning.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the DeKalb County School District Board of Education proclaims
November as Parent & Family Engagement Month in DeKalb County, with November 21st designated as Parent
& Family Engagement Day: and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that DeKalb County Board of Education encourages parents to remain actively
involved in their children’s education.
