                           AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                      October 10, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, October
10, 2024.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:07 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Committee Vice Chair, Mrs. Anna Hill, Superintendent, Dr.
Devon Q. Horton, Mr. Byron Schueneman, Joel Thibodeaux, Community Advisory members,
Ms. Gena Major, and Mr. Dennis Allen. Board Attorney Ms. Melanie Slaton, Board Members,
Ms. Allyson Gevertz and Ms. Whitney McGinniss joined the meeting virtually.

Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations was present as well.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Ms. Shauna Woody-Coussens and Mr. Jamie Amos from Forvis Mazars, LLP, CPA and
Advisory Firm presented the CARES/ESSER Comprehensive Audit.

Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, Division of Finance presented the update on
the financial audit.

COMMENTS
Mrs. Pierce thanked everyone for their participation. She provided the date of the last audit
committee meeting that will be held on November 7, 2024.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Pierce adjourned the October 10, 2024, Audit Committee meeting at 2.36 p.m.
