The DeKalb County Board of Education held its virtual Board B-Policy Review Committee
Meeting, Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Committee Chair convened the virtual meeting at 10:32 a.m. and noted
the following were in attendance; Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Ms. Whitney McGinniss, Mrs. Marissa
Key, Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Ms. Mariel Smith, Ms. Melanie Slaton and Superintendent Dr. Devon
Q. Horton. Ms. Tracy Pinson, Administrative Office Assistant also attended the virtual meeting.
Board Member, Mrs. Anna Hill joined the virtual meeting.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mrs. Vicki B. Turner, Committee Chair, presented the review of recommendations, board
comments, public comments for any Ready for Action and/or First Read Policies.

The committee discussed updates to Board Policies BCBI: Public Participation in Board
Meetings.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS | COMMENTS
Mrs. Turner summarized key points discussed and any follow-up.

Mrs. Turner provided information that the October 18, 2024 meeting was canceled. The date of
the next Board B-Policy Review committee meeting that will be on Wednesday, October 23,
2024 @ 12:00 p.m.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Turner adjourned the September 26 2024, Board B-Policy Review Committee meeting at
12:02 p.m.
