                           AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                      September 12, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, September
12, 2024.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:03 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Committee Vice Chair, Mrs. Anna Hill, Superintendent, Dr.
Devon Q. Horton, Mr. Byron Schueneman, Joel Thibodeaux, Community Advisory members,
Ms. Gena Major, and Mr. Dennis Allen. Board Attorney Ms. Melanie Slaton, and Board
Member, Ms. Allyson Gevertz also joined the meeting.

Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations was present as well.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, Division of Finance presented the annual
financial audit and status of the FY 2024 audit readiness.

Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Internal Audits & Compliance, Chief of Staff Division
presented the internal audit updates, Operations/DIIT deliverables, and the implementation of the
E-SPLOST audit recommendations.

COMMENTS
Mrs. Pierce thanked everyone for their participation. She provided the date of the next audit
committee meeting that will be held on October 10, 2024.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Pierce adjourned the September 12, 2024, Audit Committee meeting at 2:22 p.m.
