                  BOARD B-POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                     DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                     September 5, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its virtual Board B-Policy Review Committee
Meeting, Tuesday, September 5, 2024.

Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Committee Chair convened the virtual meeting at 10:32 a.m. and noted
the following were in attendance; Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Mrs. Marissa Key, Ms. Carolyn Lloyd,
Ms. Mariel Smith, Ms. Melanie Slaton and Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton. Board
Member, Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce also attended the virtual meeting.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mrs. Vicki B. Turner, Committee Chair, presented the review follow-up /action items from the
previous board b-policy committee meeting.

The committee discussed Board Policies BDC: Policy Adoption and BDF: Review of
Administrative Rules.

At the next meeting, the committee will discuss BCBI: Public Participation in Board Meetings
and review recommendations, board comments, public comment and updates to policies up for
first read.

Mrs. Turner summarized key points discussed and any follow-up.

Mrs. Turner provided the date of the next Board B-Policy Review committee meeting that will
be virtual on Thursday, September 26, 2024 @ 10:30 a.m.

Mrs. Turner adjourned the September 5 2024, Board B-Policy Review Committee meeting at
12:00 p.m.
