                  BOARD B-POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING

                     DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its virtual Board B-Policy Review Committee
Meeting, Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Committee Chair convened the virtual meeting at 10:34 a.m. and noted
the following were in attendance; Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Ms. Whitney McGinniss, Mrs. Marissa
Key, Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Ms. Noga Baruch, Ms. Mariel Smith, Ms. Melanie Slaton and
Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton. Board Member, Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce also attended the
virtual meeting.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mrs. Vicki B. Turner, Committee Chair, presented the review follow-up /action items from the
previous board b-policy committee meeting.

The committee reviewed the recommendations, board comments, public comments and updates
for Board Policies BBBE: Board Member Compensation and Expenses and BBC: Board
Committees.

Board Policies BBE: School Board Attorney, BBF: Advisory Committees and BBA: Board
Officers were moved to be discussed at the September 5, 2024 board b-policy review committee
meeting.

Mrs. Turner summarized key points discussed and any follow-up.

Mrs. Turner provided the date of the next Board B-Policy Review committee meeting that will
be virtual on Thursday, September 5, 2024 @ 11:00 a.m.

Mrs. Turner adjourned the August 20 2024, Board B-Policy Review Committee meeting at 12:13
p.m.
