                  BOARD B-POLICY REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING

                     DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                       June 25, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Board B-Policy Review Committee Meeting
Thursday, June 25, 2024.

Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:35 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Ms. Whitney McGinniss. Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Mrs. Marissa Key,
Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Ms. Noga Baruch, Ms. Melanie Slaton and Superintendent Dr. Devon Q.
Horton. Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce attended the meeting virtually.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mrs. Vicki B. Turner, Committee Chair, presented the review follow-up /action items from the
previous board b-policy committee meeting.

The committee reviewed the recommendations and updates for Board Policy BBA: Board
Officers. The committee did not get an opportunity to discuss Board Policy BBBE: Board
Member Compensation and Expenses. The policy was moved to the July 11, 2024 board b-policy
review committee meeting.

The committee reviewed 2 different style guides and decided to use the University at Buffalo
Policy Writing Style Guide.

Committee Chair, Mrs. Vickie B. Turner presented an introductory discussion of next policies
scheduled for review, BBC: Board Committees, BBE: School Board Attorney, BBF: Advisory
Committees & BBBE: Board Member Compensation and Expenses.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS | COMMENTS
Mrs. Turner provided the date of the next Board B-Policy Review committee meeting that will
be held virtually on Thursday, July 11, 2024 @ 10:00 a.m.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Turner adjourned the June 25, 2024, Board B-Policy Review Committee meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 3:06 p.m.
