June 13, 2024 audit committee meeting

                          AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                   OF THE
                      DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                       June 13, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, June 13,
2024.

Mrs. Anna Hill, Committee Vice Chair convened the meeting at 1:05 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Mr. Byron Schueneman, Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Mr. Elijah Palmer,
and Superintendent, Dr. Devon Q. Horton.

Also present was Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations.

Committee Chair, Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Community Advisor, Mr. Dennis Allen, Board
Member, Ms. Whitney McGinniss and Ms. Melanie Slaton, General Counsel with Hall Booth
Smith P.C. Attorneys at Law all attended the meeting virtually.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Audits & Compliance, presented progress updates on the
CARES/ESSER quarterly report and ESPLOST audit and school audit program.

Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Audit & Compliance, presented status updates for divisional
process, content and performance audit projects.

 Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Audit & Compliance, presented the release of new completed
audit reports to the audit committee and board member portal.

Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director of Audit & Compliance, presented                  the   process
improvement/quality assurance program for Internal Audits & Compliance.

Superintendent, Dr. Devon Q. Horton presented a status update on the bid for an Operations
audit.

COMMENTS
Mrs. Hill provided the date of the next audit committee meeting that will be held on July 11,
2024 @ 1:00 pm.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Hill adjourned the June 13, 2024, Audit Committee meeting.

The audit committee meeting adjourned at 1:49 p.m.
