                                 Honoring Sarv Dharavane
     Winner of the 63rd Annual Georgia Association of Educators State Spelling Bee and
                  Top 22 Showing at the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee
                                              June 10, 2024
WHEREAS:     The DeKalb County Board of Education is committed to excellence in education and fostering a
             love of learning in all our students; and

WHEREAS:     A strong foundation in language arts, including spelling, is essential for student success; and

WHEREAS:     Austin Elementary School student, Sarv Dharavane, has demonstrated exceptional spelling
             skills and perseverance; and

WHEREAS:     Sarv Dharavane competed in the 63rd Annual Georgia Association of Educators State
             Spelling Bee in March 2024, rising above all other competitors to claim the championship
             title; and

WHEREAS:     Sarv earned an all-expenses-paid trip to National Harbor, Maryland, where he had competed
             in the legendary Scripps National Spelling Bee, which began with preliminaries on May 28
             and concluded with the finals on May 30; and

WHEREAS:     Impressively, Sarv tied for 22nd place out of 245 participants at the 2024 Scripps National
             Spelling Bee, showcasing extraordinary academic excellence.

THEREFORE:   Be it known that the DeKalb County School District recognizes Sarv Dharavane for his
             outstanding accomplishment in winning the 63rd Annual Georgia Association of Educators
             State Spelling Bee and his inspiring showing at the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Sarv’s
             dedication to spelling expertise serves as an inspiration to all students. The Board congratulates
             Sarv, his teachers, and his family on this remarkable achievement.
