April 11, 2024 audit committee meeting

                           AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                         April 11, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, April 11,
2024.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Mrs. Anna Hill, Audit Committee Vice Chair, Mr. Byron
Schueneman, Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, and Mr. Elijah Palmer.
Ms. Whitney McGinniss, Board Member - District 2, Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Board Member –
District 5, Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Board Member District 4 and Community Advisors, Mr.
Dennis Allen, Ms. Erica Kuniansky attended the meeting virtually.

Also in attendance were Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations, Dr. Devon
Q. Horton, Superintendent, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Erick Hofstetter, and Ms.
Melanie Slaton, General Counsel with Hall Booth Smith P.C. Attorneys at Law.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, presented progress updates on the corrective
action plan and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, presented an update on the state audit.

Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director and Internal Auditor presented updates on the ongoing internal
audits.

COMMENTS
Mrs. Pierce provided the date of the next audit committee meeting that will be held on May 9,
2024 @ 1:00 pm.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Pierce requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education adjourn the April 11, 2024,
Audit Committee meeting.

Mrs. Pierce noted there were no objections, the called meeting adjourned at 2:26 p.m.
