xi. Roofing Contractor Services, ITB No. 21-752-018 Renewal Approval -Year 3 of 4 (Core Roofing Systems, Inc., and Klein Contracting Corporation for an additional year (Not to exceed $3,000,000)

Request: It is requested that the Board of Education approve the renewal of ITB 21-752-018 for roofing contractor services to Core Roofing Systems, Inc., and Klein Contracting Corp. on an as needed basis for minor roofing repair projects for various locations throughout the district for an amount not to exceed $3,000,000.
Why: This request is for a contract renewal for Core Roofing Systems, Inc., and Klein Contracting Corp. to provide roofing services at various locations throughout the district on an as needed basis in a timely and cost-effective manner. This request extends the agreement for an additional year through May 19, 2025.
Details: On April 19, 2021, the Board of Education approved Core Roofing Systems, Inc., CP Rankin, Inc., Klein Contracting Corp., and Summer Roofing Company as the most responsive and responsible offeror to provide district-wide Roofing services. This request extends the agreement for Core Roofing Systems, Inc., and Klein Contracting Corp. through May 19, 2025. Summer Roofing Company and CP Rankin, Inc. did not respond to the District’s request to renew. This recommendation is for the third of four one-year (1-year) contract renewal options.
Financial impact: The total contract amount for these services, in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000 will be allocated from the General Fund, Repair & Maintenance Service (100.2600.543000.00011.7520.9990.8013.040.0000)

Dear Mr. Burkhalter:
As a result of the excellent service provided by Core Roofing Systems, the DeKalb County School District (“DCSD”)
desires to renew the award of ITB No. 21-752-018, Roofing Contractor Services, for one (1) year on the same terms,
conditions and pricing as set forth in the License and Services Agreement between DCSD and Core Roofing Systems
dated May 21, 2021. The purpose of this letter is to obtain Core Roofing Systems’ acceptance of DCSD’s offer to
renew the License and Services Agreement.
The renewal is subject to the DeKalb County Board of Education’s (“Board”) approval and will be effective from
May 19, 2024 through May 18, 2025. Of course, we will notify you once the Board has approved the renewal. DCSD
appreciates Core Roofing System’s consideration of this offer to renew the award of ITB No. 21-752-018.
If accepted, please submit a copy of your company’s proof of insurance reflecting the coverage(s) stated within the
original solicitation document, sign the acceptance below and email both documents to
lakesia_watkins@dekalbschoolsga.org no later than Monday, December 11, 2023. Insurance policy or policies must
be maintained throughout the term of this agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements is included.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Core Roofing Systems hereby accepts DeKalb County School District’s offer to renew the award of ITB No. 21-752-
018, Roofing Contractor Services, as set forth in the License and Services Agreement, until May 18, 2025. Core
Roofing Systems understands that this acceptance is subject to the approval of the DeKalb County Board of
Education.
