March 7, 2024 Audit Committee Meeting

                           AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING
                                    OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                         March 7, 2024

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Audit Committee Meeting Thursday, March 7,
2024.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Committee Chair convened the meeting at 1:05 p.m. and noted the
following were in attendance; Mrs. Anna Hill, Audit Committee Vice Chair, Mr. Byron
Schueneman, Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, and Mr. Elijah Palmer.
Ms. Whitney McGinniss, Board Member - District 2, Ms. Allyson Gevertz, Board Member –
District 4, and Community Advisors, Mr. Dennis Allen, Ms. Gena Major, and General Counsel
Ms. Melanie Slaton attended the meeting virtually.

Also in attendance were Ms. Carolyn Lloyd, Executive Director of Board Operations, Dr. Devon
Q. Horton, Superintendent, and Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Lauren Scott.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
Mr. Joel Thibodeaux, Director and Internal Auditor presented audits currently in progress.

Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, presented corrective action plan – progress
update.

Mr. Byron Schueneman, Chief Financial Officer, presented an update on Enterprise Resource
Planning (ERP).

COMMENTS
Mrs. Pierce provided the date of the next audit committee meeting that will be held on April 11,
2024.

ADJOURN
Mrs. Pierce requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education adjourn the March 7, 2024,
Audit Committee meeting.

Mrs. Pierce noted there were no objections, the called meeting adjourned at 2:36 p.m.
