Honoring Mr. Isaiah Scott, Southwest DeKalb High School Wrestling Team
WHEREAS: Sports and athletics are challenging and stimulating activities and the best performances
come only through a combination of talent, hard work and support of family and friends and
community.
WHEREAS: Mr. Isaiah Scott, a member of the Southwest DeKalb High School Wrestling team,
coached by Head Coach Keith Johnson and his coaching staff, is to be commended for his
extraordinary accomplishments, and
WHEREAS: Mr. Isaiah Scott won his second consecutive 215 class state gold medal at the Georgia High
School Association (GHSA) State Boys’ Wrestling Championships, contributing to two top
twenty team finishes in the Class 4A State wrestling meet for DeKalb County.
WHEREAS: His accomplishments bring honor and elation to the DeKalb County School District and to the
DeKalb County community; his perseverance and discipline serve as an example to other
young people; and his remarkable achievements make us proud.
WHEREAS: The DeKalb County Board of Education takes immense pride in recognizing Mr. Isaiah Scott
and wishes him the very best in his future endeavors. We encourage the District and the
community to join us in recognition and celebration of his achievements.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the DeKalb County Board of Education and
Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton, on behalf of the DeKalb County School District, do hereby officially
recognize Mr. Isaiah Scott for his outstanding athleƟc achievements and successes individually, and as a
member of the Southwest DeKalb Wrestling team this 11th day of March 2024.
