Request: It is requested that the Board of Education approve the award of Professional Architectural and Engineering Services for a District Wide Evaluation of High School Athletic Facilities to CDH Partners, for the lump sum amount of $136,500.
Why: To approve the award of a lump sum contract to perform an analysis of, and provide a report on, the condition of the school-based exterior athletic facilities used by DCSD high schools
Details: The scope of work for this project is to provide professional architectural and engineering services to evaluate exterior athletic facilities at the following schools:

Chamblee High School
Clarkston High School
Columbia High School
Dunwoody High School
Druid Hills Middle School
Lakeside High School

On February 4, 2019, the Board of Education approved CDH Partners as part of RFQu 19-752-023, “A/E Continuing Contract for Professional Services” as one of the responsive responsible firms whose proposal best met the requirements of the solicitation documents and contract obligations to provide architectural and engineering services on an as needed basis for the Facilities/Maintenance Department and the SPLOST program. On February 13, 2023, the Board of Education approved the final contract extension through April 22, 2024. CDH Partners is located at 3330 Cumberland Blvd SE, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30339
Financial impact: The total budget of $136,500 for the District Wide Evaluation of High School Athletic Facilities will be allocated from the General Fund Budget, Purchased/Professional Technical Services cost code 100.2600.530000.00011.7520.9990.8013.040.0000

Scope of Services
Scope of the work for this project is to provide professional services to evaluate the district wide high schools and
supporting fields as required. The review, analysis, and reporting will document each facility’s compliance with district
standards and parity amongst the varying campuses, condition of the facilities and fields, recommendations for
improvements.
The design team will provide site study for high school athletic fields at the following campuses.:
• Arabia Mountain High School
• Cedar Grove High School
• Chamblee High School
• Clarkston High School
• Columbia High School
• Dunwoody High School
• Druid Hills Middle School
• Lakeside High School
• Lithonia High School
• Miller Grove High School
• M.L. King, Jr. High School
• Redan High School
• Stone Mountain High School
• Southwest DeKalb High School
• Stephenson High School
• Ronald E. McNair High School
• Tucker High School
• Towers High School
Design Development Services
CDH will prepare as site plan for each identified campus showing the following:
• Existing football field, track, and track & field events (shot put, long jump, high jump, etc.)
• Baseball field and softball field with seating and batting cages/bullpen area – can be a combined field if necessary
• Field lighting on the football, baseball and softball fields
• A field house which includes space for Men’s and Women’s “gang” restrooms, non-cooking concessions, referee
changing rooms (2), and storage
• ADA parking at the field level and sidewalks to seating and concessions
• Aluminum bleachers for a minimum of 500 and for a maximum of what the site will allow. Seating can be on one
or both sides of the field.
• Fencing around the track perimeter if not currently installed or planned to be installed.
• Tennis Courts – Number, condition, access, etc.
It is anticipated that the design services will require an average of approximately 1 week per campus to complete the site
visit, compile the data, prepare the report and recommendations, and provide the cost estimates.

Fee Proposal
CDH proposes to perform the listed services on a lump sum basis of one hundred thirty-six thousand five hundred dollars
and no cents ($136,500.00). The following fee includes all reimbursable expenses.
Exclusions
The following services are excluded from the architect’s scope of services but may be necessary for the implementation of
basic services:
• Design/engineering of improvements
• Environmental Surveys and Hazardous Material Surveys
• Site and topographical surveys
The intent of our proposal is based upon providing all customary Architectural and Engineering services required for
the prescribed scope of services.
