                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                          May 31, 2023

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Called Meeting and Executive Session,
Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the Cabinet Room at the DeKalb County School District’s Robert
R. Freeman Administrative Instructional Complex, 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Stone
Mountain, Georgia.

Mrs. Deirdre P. Pierce, Vice Chair convened the meeting at 12:58 p.m. and noted the following
were in attendance; Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Mrs. Anna Hill, Mrs. Allyson Gevertz, Mrs. Whitney
McGinniss, and Dr. Vasanne S. Tinsley, Interim Superintendent. Mr. DaCosta, Sr. joined the
executive session virtually.

Also in attendance were General Counsel Attorney, Ms. Melanie Slaton and Dr. Yolanda
Williamson, Executive Administrator to the Board.


AMENDMENT OF THE AGENDA
Mrs. Pierce requested a motion from DeKalb County Board of Education to amend the agenda to
delete item D. Action Item due to not having to take any action.

On a motion by Mrs. Turner, seconded by Ms. Gevertz, the called meeting and executive session
agenda was amended with a vote of 5/0.

ADOPTION OF THE AMENDED AGENDA
Mrs. Pierce requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education adopt the amended May 17,
2023, called meeting and executive session agenda.

There being no objection, the agenda was approved.

ADJOURN TO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mrs. Pierce called for a motion to adjourn May 31, 2023, called meeting to an executive session
for the purpose of discussing permitted matters regarding litigation, land, legal, personnel, and
student appeals.

On a motion by Ms. Gevertz, seconded by Mrs. McGinniss to adjourn to executive session, the
May 31, 2023, called meeting adjourned to Executive Session with a vote of 5/0.

Mrs. Pierce requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education would adjourn the May 31,
2023, called meeting and executive session after the conclusion of the executive session.


The called meeting and executive session adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
