Request: It is requested that the Board of Education approve the hiring recommendation of Bernando C. Brown to the position of Director of Student Transportation .
Financial impact: There is no impact to the general budget as the position already exists in the general budget.

QUALIFICATION SUMMARY
A Dynamic and results-focused pupil transportation professional with solid qualifications in strategic planning
and implementation, also in operations planning and management, team building, leadership, and
communications. Thorough knowledge of all principles, practices, policies, and procedures pertaining to a
School Board Transportation Department. Fully educated in all governing agencies policies, rules, regulations,
goals, and objectives pertaining to pupil transportation. I have been recognized from superiors for my ability
to analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, and budgets to increase
profits or improve services. I am proficient with Microsoft Office Programs and transportation related
programs.

Regional Transportation Manager August 2016 - Present

Personally responsible for safe and efficient transportation for over 9,000 students attending the schools of
Region II; Communicates and engage with key stakeholders and business partners to collaboratively solve
business problems; Planned and executed the implementation of the Edulog Parent
Oversaw the overall Region II Transportation Operations to ensure safe, effective, and efficient student
transportation services
Oversaw the overall routing process for all Region II schools and programs. Made recommendations for
route changes when necessary.
Coordinated with Transportation Supervisors and Assistant Transportation Supervisors to review and
verify timesheets and attendance.

Dispatch Supervisor July 2013 – August 2016

and DeKalb County School System's (DCSS) policies and procedures.

other school personnel and the general public in a timely manner.
Coordinated/monitored the two-way radio communication between and among bus drivers,
