February 1, 2023 called meeting and executive session

                      CALLED MEETING AND EXECUTIVE SESSION
                                     OF THE
                       DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

                                        February 1, 2023

The DeKalb County Board of Education held its Called Meeting & Executive Session, February
1, 2023, in the J. David Williamson Cabinet Room, at the DeKalb County School District’s
Robert R. Freeman Administrative Instructional Complex, 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard,
Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Sr., Chair, convened the meeting at 10:10 am and noted the following were
in attendance; Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Mrs. Anna Hill, Mrs. Deirdre Pierce, Mrs. Allyson
Gevertz, Mrs. Whitney McGinniss and Dr. Vasanne S. Tinsley, Interim Superintendent. Dr.
Joyce Morley joined the meeting virtually.

Also in attendance were General Counsel Attorney, Ms. Melanie Slaton and Dr. Yolanda
Williamson, Executive Administrator to the Board.

ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Mr. DaCosta, Sr. requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education adopt the February 1,
2023, called meeting and executive session.

There being no objection, the agenda was approved.

ADJOURN TO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Mr. DaCosta, Sr., called for a motion to adjourn February 1, 2023, called meeting to an executive
session for the purpose of discussing permitted matters regarding litigation, land, legal,
personnel, and student appeals.

On a motion by Mrs. Turner, seconded by Mrs. Pierce and with a unanimous vote of (7\0), the
February 1, 2023, called meeting adjourned to Executive Session at 10:35 am.

ADJOURN THE EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE TO AN OPEN SESSION
There being no further business, Mr. DaCosta, Sr., called for a motion to adjourn the February 1,
2023, Executive Session and reconvene to a Called Meeting.

Mr. DaCosta, Sr. noted there were no objections, the February 1, 2023, executive session
adjourned at 10:40 am. The Board adjourned to the Called Meeting

ACTION ITEM(S)
  1. Approval of ESPLOST VI Project List
     Mr. Erick Hofstetter presented the Capital Projects and Initial E-SPLOST VI Project List

       On a motion by Mrs. Pierce, seconded by Mrs. Hill and with a unanimous vote of (7/0),
       the ESPLOT VI Project List passed.

   2. Approval of an Item from Executive Session

   a. Mr. DaCosta called for a motion to adopt the action, as discussed, in Executive Session
      for Student Appeal No. 23-14.

       On a motion by Mrs. Pierce, seconded by Mrs. Turner, and with a unanimous vote of
       (7\0),
       The motion passed.

   b. Mr. DaCosta called for a motion to adopt the action, as discussed, in Executive Session
      for Student Appeal No. 23-15.

      On a motion by Mrs. Pierce, seconded by Mrs. Gevertz, and with a unanimous vote of
      (7\0),

   c. Mr. DaCosta called for a motion to adopt the action, as discussed, in Executive Session
      for Student Appeal No. 23-16.

      On a motion by Mrs. Hill, seconded by Mrs. Gevertz, and with a unanimous vote of (7\0),
      The motion passed.


 ADJOURN THE CALLED MEETING AND RECONVENE THE EXECUTIVE
 SESSION
  Mr. DaCosta, Sr. requested that the DeKalb County Board of Education adjourn the February
  1, 2023, called meeting.

  Mr. DaCosta, Sr. noted there were no objections, the called meeting adjourned at 12:03 pm.
