Resource for Governance Teams
• State school boards associations exist as a professional
resource and to provide services to locally elected
boards of education
• Governance Team- a reference to the notion that
boards of education and superintendents are teams
meant to work together towards common goals
• State associations are staffed by a combination of
former school board members, superintendents and
professionals
• Staffing varies for state associations based on the
needed services that the membership have deemed
priority
