                         DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
                                   July 28-29, 2022

The DeKalb County Board of Education held a 2-day board retreat on Thursday, July 28, 2022
and Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina, 4000
Summit Blvd., Atlanta, Georgia, 30319.

Mrs. Vickie Turner, Board Chair, called the meeting to order at 1:08pm, and noted the following
were in attendance: Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Chair, Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Vice Chair, Mrs. Anna
Hill, Mr. Marshall D. Orson, Mrs. Deirdre Pierce, Mrs. Allyson Gevertz, and Interim
Superintendent, Dr. Vasanne Tinsley. Dr. Joyce Morley joined the meeting at 2:34pm.

Also in attendance were Dr. Yolanda Williamson, Executive Director of Board Operations and
General Counsel Attorney, Mr. Clem Doyle.

ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Mrs. Turner called for a motion to adopt the July 28-29, 2022, 2-day board retreat agenda.

Mrs. Turner noted there were no objections, the July 28-29, 2022, 2-day board retreat agenda
was adopted.

Mrs. Turner called for a motion to recess the board retreat.

Mrs. Turner noted there were no objections, the 2-day board retreat recessed at 5:30pm.

RECONVENE THE BOARD RETREAT
Mrs. Vickie Turner, Board Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:30am, and noted the following
were in attendance: Mrs. Vickie B. Turner, Chair, Mr. Diijon DaCosta, Vice Chair, Mrs. Anna
Hill, Mr. Marshall D. Orson, Mrs. Deirdre Pierce, Mrs. Allyson Gevertz, and Interim
Superintendent, Dr. Vasanne Tinsley. Dr. Joyce Morley joined the meeting at 9:05am.

Mrs. Turner called for a motion to reconvene the 2-day board retreat.

Mrs. Turner noted there were no objections, the 2-day board retreat reconvened.
