It is the policy of the DeKalb County Board of Education that the DeKalb County School District effectively implement the state standardized assessment program and monitor school and District accountability to state and federal assessment mandates.
The Superintendent shall plan, organize, and manage a District-wide program for student assessment and accountability through the Department of Assessment and Accountability. The program shall be designed to provide standardized assessments of the state-adopted curriculum and District curriculum. The Department of Assessment and Accountability shall provide formative and summative assessment data from state standardized assessment and other data measurements to guide budgetary, curricular, instructional and professional development decisions regarding student achievement, including the adjustment, improvement, or termination programs and instructional practices.
