It is the intent of the DeKalb County Board of Education that the DeKalb County School District provide a full continuum of services for meeting the educational needs of students ages three through twenty-one who have a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Board is committed to the full implementation of the intent and mandates of federal and state law, policies, and regulations to ensure that students with disabilities receive a free, appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. The District shall adhere to the rules of the Georgia Board of Education regarding students with disabilities, including, but not limited to, those governing child find, evaluations and reevaluations, eligibility, individualized education programs, least restrictive environment, and discipline.
