CHARTER SCHOOL SUPPORT FROM DEKALB PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT
Start-up charter schools experiencing on campus or school problems with unauthorized persons, students and other individuals which require police intervention should call the DeKalb Public Safety Office at 678 676-1810. The following procedures shall be observed:

Each school administrator, along with the governing board, shall write a letter to the DeKalb Public Safety Office with a copy to the DeKalb Charter School Office declaring the board’s intention to call the DeKalb Public Safety Office to respond to any intruder/suspicious person(s), student disruption, bomb threat, drug issue, violence or other acts that threaten the safety of students, staff and authorized visitors at the charter school.

Calls for police response should be limited to the principal and the assistant principal of the school.
