The DeKalb County Board of Education shall appoint a Superintendent of Schools who shall serve as the executive officer of the District. The Superintendent shall be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the District. The Superintendent’s fundamental role shall be to implement the policies established by the Board.The Superintendent shall serve as secretary, ex-officio to the Board and should be present at all meetings of the Board except when his or her contract, salary, or performance is under consideration.
The Superintendent shall meet all qualifications required by law and shall perform all duties assigned by law and by the Board.
