Greetings,
I am writing to express my interest in the Director of Equitable Services positions with the DeKalb
County School District. Having dedicated more than two decades of my career to federal programs,
leadership, grants management, school improvement, and instructional support through curriculum and
instruction, I am inspired by the opportunity to bring my experience and commitment to equity to a role
so aligned with my professional values and areas of expertise.
Throughout my career, I have been privileged to support students, educators, and school communities
across local and state education agencies. From managing and monitoring complex federal funding
sources--such as Title I, II, II, IV, SIG, and RTT--to developing and evaluating program plans that drive
measurable student growth, I have developed a deep understanding of the systems and relations
necessary to ensure compliance and meaningful outcomes. These experiences have strengthened not
only my technical knowledge but also my belief that equitable access to high-quality educational
opportunities is foundational to student success.
In my current role as an Academic Coach Senior Coordinator for DeKalb County School District, I work
closely with school and district leaders to align instructional practices, guide federal program
implementation, support middle school academic coaches, and use data to enhance outcomes for
students. I take pride in building collaborative relationships that support shared goals and foster trust.
My approach is grounded in strong communication, responsiveness, and genuine desire to help
educators feel supported as they carry out the important work of serving students.
The Director of Equitable Services role resonates with me because it requires a leader who can balance
technical accuracy with compassionate service--someone who can maintain rigorous compliance while
also offering thoughtful support to private school partners, federal program directors, and internal teams.
I am confident that my background in developing program budgets, conducting audits, managing
reporting systems, and leading cross-functional collaboration positions me well to serve in this capacity.
More importantly, I bring a sincere commitment to ensuring that every student--regardless of school
setting--has access to the resources and opportunities they deserve.
